Hey, Melinda, your scribe, here with some quick updates before I hand things over to Ran for the main event!
First, if you backed the His Angelic Keeper Omnibuses + Chaos Rises Kickstarter, thank you again for your support! I’ve sent out all the tracking links for the physical books since they all printed. They ship from the printer in Ohio, so you should receive your book soon.
So please check your Kickstarter messages for those tracking links!
And now for some very exciting news on the writing front: I have officially finished writing Book Battles, book 2 in the Tales of the Curse Breaker series! It’s written but it still needs editing. It shouldn't change too much between now and when it's actually done. So, now my focus shifts to the sequel, Rogue Characters.
Okay, that’s all from me for now! Time for Ran to take over!
More Book News!
It’s Ran, Sarn’s son from the Curse Breaker series, back with more news about books!
Did you hear that Book Battles is written! That’s right, my scribe finally finished the second book in the Tales of the Curse Breaker in NY series. It’s got even more epic adventures which I DEFINITELY helped with, despite what my scribe might say, and you’ll love it.
ButBook Battles stuck closer to the original newsletter adventures than Catch the Scribe (book 1) did. But there’s still a lot of new stuff added in because of those epic adventures I helped with. Book 3 will likely have even more news stuff, and that’s so exciting!
How is the Scribe doing?
That’s a good question. She’s still a bit lost and unsure what to do next. But she still does not have have a plan for what to do after the end date for her job. I’m not sure if should be concerned about that yet. Her end date is still months away. Should I worry?
This week, Melinda learned that cobra costs $1450 a month to continue her health insurance, and I agree that’s way too much. There must be another option. So that’s something she needs to look into. Although, I’ll probably do it for her because I need a healthy scribe to write books.
Speaking of books, Melinda had an idea for another book that would let her channel of her frustration and anger about her situation into an epic adventure. And I’ve already figured out how I can sneak into the book and steal some scenes.
What’s it about?
This is the rough concept, and it could change:
The AIs were supposed to take our jobs. And they did. What happens when the AIs don’t want to do our jobs? Help! I got sucked into a game the AIs made and now I do their job!
And the game? It’s my world, of course. How else can I get page time?
The AIs would obviously create a game based on something that already exists and Melinda has written a ton on our world. She has even more stories about it that she hasn’t finished yet so she has plenty of material to pull from.
(Did you see that coming? Be honest. Melinda didn’t see that coming, and she stared at me for a full minute when I suggested it. But she didn’t say no, so that’s a yes, right?)
That leads to my next question. If you got sucked into a video game that let you walk around my world and interact with it, what would you be?
Or something else? The poll only lets me add 5 options, so it’s possible your first pick isn’t on the list. If it’s not, let me know!
Melinda hasn’t started writing this story yet, so it’s just a wild idea. But she could start it soon if I push her. If she does, you can find out by doing one thing. What’s that one thing? Read on and I’ll tell you.
Want to Read Book Battles (and More!) now?
While Book Battles is off getting polished, wouldn’t it be great if you could start reading it NOW?
My scribe posted all the chapters from Catch the Scribe and now Book Battles on her Patreon. And for those of you on Substack, you can find the chapters for Book Battles there too! Next week (depending on how the editing goes!), she wants to start posting chapters from Rogue Characters and maybe soon, chapters from the story I polled you about.
Here’s the deal: If you become a paid subscriber on either Substack or my scribe’s Patreon, and you’ve been subscribed for at least a month, you’ll get a finished ebook copy of Book Battles as soon as it’s fully edited!
That means you could be reading the complete, polished version in about a week or two, depending on how much editing it needs.
And you’ll get early access to every new adventure and you’ll support fun characters (and their scribe) on their quest for more page time.
Think of it: not only do you get to read the stories before anyone else, but you also get a free copy of the finished ebook as a thank you for your continued support! It's a win-win, really. You get more of me, and Melinda gets to keep the lights on and keep writing our adventures!
So, ready to dive in?
Upgrade on Substack or Patreon.
That’s it for this week! Don’t forget to vote in the poll!
