Hey, it’s me, Melinda, your scribe. In case you missed the last update, the Kickstarter campaign for the illustrated editions of His Angelic Keeper omnibuses and Chaos Rises is complete, and we’re now in the fulfillment phase!
🎉 Thank you so much to everyone who supported the campaign!
📬 All the ebooks have been sent to backers who completed their survey—check your BookFunnel library if that includes you.
📚 I’ve also ordered all the hardcover books for those of you who backed physical tiers. Once I get tracking links from the printer, I’ll send those your way too.
That’s all from me for now. Now, I’ll let Ran take it from here because he insisted.
👦 Hey! It’s your favorite magical troublemaker — Ran!
That’s right! I'm Ran, the son of Sarn from the Curse Breaker Series, and totally not causing more work for my author. 😇
Someone asked this week if we could make the series bundles from the Kickstarter addons available on our store. Since that’s a great idea, I said yes! Then I asked my scribe if we can actually do that, and if she can make that happen.
And we now have them up on the shop for anyone who missed out!
🧙🏻♂️ Grab all 11 books in the Curse Breaker series with one click: Click here for the bundle!
🌿 And you can also get all 5 illustrated ebooks from the Robin of Larkspur series, bundled into two stunning ebook omnibuses, right over here: Click here for the illustrated bundle!
***The illustrated ebook bundle is delivered in two formats, a plain epub, and the full color high-res PDF that has all the art including the dust jacket art and the art under the dust jacket.
***All ebooks are delivered by BookFunnel, so they remain in your library forever so you don’t need to worry about losing them if something happens to your ereader. They are portable so if you decide to switch devices, you can just send them to your new device.
Thank You For Being Awesome
Also, a huge thank you to all of you who’ve sent kind words and encouragement to my scribe. She’s going through a tough few months. 💔
If you have more to share, send it Melinda’s way. She had some health stumbles recently, and she’s been feeling pretty down about things. I’m trying to cheer her up by getting into as much magical mayhem as I possibly can to distract her from the pain.
📆 In September, half her team at her day job is will depart along with many of her amazing coworkers in other departments too.
💔 It’s also the same month that her dad passed away last year, and the same month her late sister would have turned 41 if she were still with us.
That’s a lot of sadness packed into just a few weeks, and I don’t think that’s very fair. So I thought about what we could do about that, and I had an idea!
What if we gave Melinda something to look forward to?
What if we had our first-ever virtual fan event?
It’ll be virtual because we don’t know what her schedule will be like for her day job in September. But maybe one day we could meet in person.
What would this event entail?
✨ An exclusive new book written just for attendees. What kind of story should we tell?
📖 A reading and Q&A with Melinda (and hopefully ME) + obviously Melinda will tell you all about what goes on behind the scenes. All my secrets will be revealed.
📬 Everyone who joins gets the ebook—and we’ll offer a physical book as an optional add-on for the print lovers among us!
💵 Tentative price: $5 for entry + you get ebook copy of the book and if you want a signed physical copy, we can offer an additional fee for that. But it would be totally optional.
So what do you think? Would you attend something like that? What would you like to have at a fan event?
I know what you're thinking. Is this a ploy to get more page time?
Maybe? I spend a lot of time when not adventuring with Papa and Uncle Miren thinking about new ways to get more page time and more books to star in, so it might be? But it’s all for your entertainment! I promise.
How about a poll?
While you think that over, let's go to some books news!
Book News!
📕 Book Battles, the second book in the Tales of the Curse Breaker in NY series is still nearing completion. I might have snuck in some extra twists and turns on our quest making the book longer than book 1, Catch the Scribe.
How does Melinda feel about that? Well, she's holding the trilogy hostage to keep me from going on too many side quests so that should tell you how she feels about it.
Will I behave and stop going on side quests? Probably not but we'll see! That's it for this week.
—This is Ran, writing on behalf of my scribe, Melinda, signing off! See you next week!
