Hey,
So I can’t show you chapter 2 of Rogue Rescue because it contains some really big spoilers for Summon the Gods, book 2 of the Rogue Gods Trilogy. But you can grab the book and get a glimpse of some of the mayhem I’m involved in.
Also, Rogue Rescue, has an extended epilogue like Curse Breaker Enchanted did. It doesn’t have a cliffhanger. Papa refused to do another one. He really hates them. So you can thank him for tying up as many loose ends as he could. As you’ll see when you read it, he works overtime on that one task.
There are still as few loose ends that will be tied up in the Rogue Gods Trilogy because they couldn’t be tied up in Robin’s series despite my dad’s heroic efforts on that front, and you’ll see why.
As for the books themselves, the 3rd book of the Rogue Gods Trilogy, Storm the Gates is rushing toward the finish line.
This is Ran, Sarn’s son from the Curse Breaker series and so far, I am the hero of Storm the Gates, book 3 of the Rogue Gods Trilogy, which is coming as soon as I save the world.
When will that be? Well, it’s hard to say because saving the world is tough work, and I have a lot to do to save it. After all, Melinda has only written 16 chapters so far, and that’s not even half the book.
How do I know that? Book 1, Gateway to Hell, clocked in with 47 chapters and book 2, Summon the Gods, finished with 54 chapters a few weeks ago. So I should get at least get another 31 chapters to fix the mess I walked into. It’s only fair that I get adequate space to do my part.
I might also want to get all the page time I can possibly get. But that means more magical action and adventure for you, so our goals align!
If all goes well, you could get your hands on the trilogy in May or June. We were hoping for April, but April is 2 weeks away and we still need to fight off that army storming the gates.
Which gates? You’ll find out. I will, of course, keep you posted.
Since I can’t talk about Rogue Rescue anymore without giving away massive spoilers about my adventure, I’ll let you in on a little secret about Robin’s 5th book, Rogue Gift. Why would I do that when I’m mad at Robin?
Because if I tell you, then Melinda can’t change it, and I’m trying to help my buddy get some more page time. Yes, I’m talking about the furriest little OwlCat and my best friend, Furball. What does he have to do with Rogue Gift?
Remember Spell of Shadow & Light, the omnibus of 4 novellas starring my best buddy, Furball and his favorite Guard? In that book, he was just a baby OwlCat who fell into more trouble than he could teleport out of. Thankfully, Nulthir is a standup guy, and he pulled Furball out of trouble at great personal expense. I am forever grateful for that!
So if you were hankering for more opportunities for Furball to fall into trouble and for Nulthir to pull that fur baby out of trouble, then you’re in luck! The events in Spell of Shadow & Light tie into Robin’s 5th book, Rogue Gift.
This isn’t just a rumor. I saw a rough copy of the first two chapters of Rogue Gift, and Furball decided to teleport in to see his favorite Guard! Thus began the usual mad scramble to catch him.
Furball won’t admit it, but he likes when people run around as they try to catch him. Of course, his favorite humans were on hand for that, but so was Robin.
This isn’t a spoiler because she planned to stick around Mount Eredren after she saved her daughter and get a job there, then reevaluate her plans when the weather warmed up. Robin thinks about this on and off during all 4 books currently published in her series.
You get Jerlo’s reaction when she goes to his office at the very end of Rogue Rescue to inquire about working for the Rangers. But you can probably guess his answer. Would you hire someone who spirited off a mage you’re responsible for?
So I don’t think her ending up working for the Guards is much of a spoiler. You also get Papa’s reaction to that since he runs into her right after her meeting with Jerlo. I won’t spoil that for you. You can read all about how he takes it in Rogue Rescue.
So now that you know, Melinda can’t change those chapters and remove my little buddy. Hopefully, Furball will get more than the cameo he currently has, but I won’t know until Melinda finishes writing Storm the Gates, book 3 of the Rogue Gods Trilogy.
Of course as soon as Rogue Gift is done then the scribe is all mine again! Melinda will write my books and no one else’s. So the end of 2024 and most of 2025 will have a whole lot of curse breaking. Papa has been too good for too long, and it’s high time he got mixed up in a bunch of magical problems that lead to a bunch of adventures that I will of course accompany him on.
Please don’t tell any other characters about this. I haven’t told anybody about my plans yet. And now I need to head back to Storm the Gates and my quest to fix everything that went wrong in the first two books in the trilogy. You’d think they would have at least fixed something, but no, all they did was stop the villains.
That was a huge effort to be sure. But they left our story world teetering on the edge of destruction, and now, yours truly needs to clean up their mess while an army marches toward [Redacted for spoilers]. And I’m not known for my cleaning prowess. Wish me luck!
Get your copies of Robin’s first 4 books so Furball can get more page time.
See you next week!
