Hey!
Well, we did it! Thank you to everyone who pledged and helped us reach our goal. Our Kickstarter funded!
So what happens next?
Hi, I’m Ran, Sarn’s son from the Curse Breaker series. I’m a fictional character from a fantasy book, so I shouldn’t know the answer to that question. But since I donned a cape and mask and became our official promoter, I actually do know!
Okay, I’ll stop stalling and tell you. I just had to toot my little horn a little because the Kickstarter represents over a year of work. We didn’t fund high enough to reveal some of the other things we planned, but maybe we’ll try again in the future.
So, what happens next?
Kickstarter charges everyone who pledged, and then, when they send us the money, we send out surveys to the backers. The surveys are how we collect email addresses and addresses, so we can send the ebooks and hardcover books to their new owners.
Once we have those back, we will order the physical books and send out the digital ones.
What does that mean for you?
If you missed the Kickstarter, it means you can still order copies. That’s right. Since it can take a few weeks for the funds to arrive and all the surveys to come in, we can take additional orders. That way, we can order all the books on the same day.
You can also order copies of the Robin of Larkspur Books 1-3 omnibus as either an ebook or hardcover. We had it ready but couldn’t really find a way to include it in the Kickstarter that made sense, so it was just in the bigger tiers. You can order copies of either version from the page I linked above.
Now that the Kickstarter is over, you might be wondering what’s next for your favorite fantasy heroes?
Loads of stuff! There will be more books coming soon, including a brand new trilogy and a triple crossover!
We’re also dusting off the cards for the card game Melinda started designing back in 2019. That project went on hold when the pandemic hit and costs spiraled for playing card printing, but there might be more options now. If we can find a way to do it so it’s not super expensive, that might be something you can get your hands on in the future.
There will obviously be more Curse Breaker books. That’s a given. I have my trusty list of adventures I want to go on.
And of course, I will get into lots of trouble for your entertainment. I was too busy promoting the kickstarter and trying to keep Papa from finding out about it to get into much trouble since you last saw me. But I don’t need to do that anymore, and oh no.
Did you hear that shout?
I guess I’m already in trouble. What did I do?
Well, I was trying to set up that page I linked above where you can order copies of the Curse Breaker special edition omnibuses, and I might have got things a bit muddled.
But don’t worry. Melinda will fix the issue before this email lands in your inbox. After all, she works in IT. So fixing these kinds of issues is what she does all day when she’s not here writing about my adventures.
How did I break it?
First off, I need to point out that it’s not really my fault. I’m just a character from a fantasy book series that likes to email you. Websites confuse me, and I should probably not update ours. But I like pushing buttons, and there’s a lot of pretty buttons in the backend.
Which button did I push?
I might have pushed all of them at the same time. How was I supposed to know that I shouldn’t do that?
Again, I am just a kid from a fantasy world. I didn’t know that would cause the site to do very un-website like things.
There’s no warning label. If the button said it would explode the site or make it go boom, I wouldn’t have clicked it. So really, it’s the platform’s fault. It should mark things so I know in the future what not to touch.
But I can’t guarantee that I won’t touch it. In six months or a year, I might forget that pushing the red button is a bad idea. And even if I do remember, I might push it anyway to create some extra drama for our newsletter.
So you can order copies of our special edition hardcover omnibuses through our handy order form for the next 30 days. The ebook versions will be available in our store beyond that.
And that’s it for this week. Your favorite characters (and their scribe) are exhausted from the Kickstarter and ready to get into some spooky trouble in the next couple of weeks.
All the trouble I caused this weekend will be fixed before you get this email, so I can start looking for new trouble to dig my little fingers into! Melinda would love it if I’d stay out of trouble for a bit, but where’s the fun in that?
I’ll let you ponder that while I plan my next adventure!
See you next Monday!
