Hey! Guess what?
You probably already know what I’m about to say. But in case you don’t, our Kickstarter campaign just launched!
We also want to send a really big shout out to our Scribe, Melinda’s, sister in Heaven. Happy birthday, Carolyn!
So what’s the Kickstarter campaign for?
We want to bring 3 big and beautiful digitally signed hardcover omnibuses that collect the first 9 books of the Curse Breaker series to life!
These hardcover omnibuses will honor Melinda’s sister. She loved hardcover books with pretty dust jackets. So we wanted to create some in memory of her and also for our hardcover lover fans out there.
We’ve neglected you for too long because there wasn’t a viable way to bring beautiful hardcover books to you until now. Earlier this year, we found the perfect printer. Their quality is worlds better than anything you can buy in stores.
(I’ll spare you the horror stories from our search. Just know that finding this printer took about as much effort as slaying a dragon. And there were casualties during this search. Many test copies gave their lives to find this printer. I wish I was kidding. But I digress.)
Hi, I’m Ran, a fictional character, and the unofficial star of the Curse Breaker series. Yes, yes, I know the books center my quiet, magically intense papa, but I get plenty of page time too as his unofficial sidekick.
I’m working on getting officially recognized as his sidekick, but it’s slow going because of some decisions I made in Curse Breaker Trapped and Curse Breaker Revealed (books 8 & 9 of the Curse Breaker series).
In my defense, those decisions seemed like good ideas at the time. Since everyone forgot about the mystery, I thought I’d solve it myself. I didn’t know things would go so spectacularly wrong or that I would need a rescue before the end. After all, I’m not psychic.
So Papa is not too happy with me right now because of that. But I was the best sidekick ever in the first two trilogies! I used my little gift to keep Papa going when he made some questionable decisions in those first six books.
I don’t know why he’s holding my mistakes against me. I didn’t decide to give up my magic in the middle of a monster fight. That was all him. (That happened in Curse Breaker Falls, book 4 of the Curse Breaker series.)
He took 2 books to realize he liked being a mage and to figure out how to get both types of his magic back. (That happened in Curse Breaker Sundered and Curse Breaker Hidden, books 5 & 6 of the Curse Breaker series).
But I’m rambling as I often do.
Go to our campaign now, check out the reward tiers and back the one with the rewards you want.
Still on the fence? Let’s take a peek inside the campaign:
Get 2527 pages of epic fantasy adventures starring:
a reluctant mage
his precocious son/wannabe sidekick
Join their fight to survive and thrive in a world that hates and fears magic but is steeped in it.
The Story
Meet Sarn, a reluctant mage with a big problem. He lives in a country that's covered by a giant, quasi-sentient enchanted forest. Unfortunately, the rulers of this land hate and fear magic so much, they made using it an offense punishable by death.
Magic might be illegal, but that doesn't stop monsters and ancient evil beings from showing up at Sarn's door. His magic isn't subtle or quiet, and it doesn't want to hide anymore.
But that's not Sarn's only problem. Since there's no such thing as child care, there's no one to watch his son when danger arrives on their doorstep.
Meet Ran, a precocious child who'd make a great sidekick if his dad would be a little less overprotective. But that doesn't stop Ran from running into danger right behind his beloved Papa. After all, even heroes need someone to remind them about important things like ducking, casting shields, and when to run for their lives.
How can Sarn protect his son and his city at the same time?
Find out in 9 full-length adventures (almost a million words) collected into three 734-900 page omnibuses available in glossy hardcover books for the first time with beautiful new cover designs not available anywhere else.
These omnibuses are thick! They're all:
734-896 pages long
6.38 x 9.44 inches (width x height)
and are over two inches thick.
The hardcover versions are not available in stores. The ebook versions of the omnibuses also received a new cover design to match the new hardcover versions for this campaign.
Want to tryout this series and meet Sarn and his son before backing? You can download their first adventure, Curse Breaker Enchanted here.
The Omnibuses
All three hardcover omnibuses are digitally signed and come with the Queen of All Trees' stamp of approval:
Since she's a giant, sentient, magical tree, she may place the mark anywhere in the book.
The Details
You can add-on other items to your reward tier and add extra copies if you need them. We tried to package the prequels, sequels, and sidequests in paperback format so you can easily add them on and the shipping isn’t too astronomical.
The hardcover for digitally signed omnibus for Robin of Larkspur Books 1-3 is also included in some tiers. If it’s not in the tier you want, you can add it on to your tier from the addons after you pledge. You can also order more copies if you need them.
If you need our paperbacks packaged a different way than is in our campaign, please tell us so we can create a custom addon on kickstarter and work out the shipping price with the printer.
If your country is not listed as an option to ship to, please contact us through kickstarter or by hitting reply to this email, and tell us what tier or addon you want, what country you live in and your zip code and we’ll find out if the printer can ship to you and add your country as an option.
You will not be charged for anything until the campaign ends on Oct 14. And you will only be charged if the campaign funds. We hope it will. But there’s a risk that it will not.
And that brings us to:
Risks & Challenges
This project may not fund.
All 9 books are already written and edited, and the cover art for all the omnibuses is completed. The new hardcover omnibuses have been formatted and the files are ready to send to the printer.
The printer is located in the UK and typically takes 1-2 weeks to print and ship the books. From there, the books can take another 1-2 weeks to reach you. But there could be shipping delays due to weather or other unforeseen events.
The ebook omnibuses are all recovered and ready to send out through BookFunnel when the campaign closes, and all the addons are also ready to deploy upon completion of the project. Please make sure to use the email address you want the ebook sent to.

I’ll see you on Monday as usual unless something happens with our campaign. We hope it funds!
Thank you for supporting our project!
