Hey!

Before I get to the subject of today’s email, I have an update on our Scribe, Melinda Kucsera's, 2023 book goals! I'm excited about them but I'm a fictional character and these goals directly affect me and my family.

Who am I?

I'm Ran, Sarn's son and your usual narrator. Robin tried takeover this week, but I have a mage for a father. All I had to do was whimper and poof! A shield engulfed me and the pc, so I could send this to you. Together, he and I star in the Curse Breaker series.

Robin stars in the Robin of Larkspur series, which I'll come back to in a second because her books, unfortunately, take up quite a few of Melinda's goals this year. So without further ado, I bring you a 90 second video of her discussing progress on the books she's writing. Watch it on YouTube.

Here's the important stuff to know:

• Robin of Larkspur #3 - Rogue Ranger is done, but she's holding it back because some characters can't follow an outline.

• Robin of Larkspur #4, Rogue Rescue, went off the rails and the characters are all insane, except my father because he's awesome, and he's just there to cast shields. Robin's supposed to be running the show in her books.

• Melinda wrote 15 chapters for Shards For His Gift, and she finally realized that this heartwarming cozy fantasy story is actually the 10th book in the Curse Breaker series. But you already knew that was my plan all along, so you're not surprised by this.

• There's some art at the end of the video that may be for a book coming soon.

That's where we're at, and now, as promised, I present to you the next installment of Shards For His Gift. The subject of this week’s email is actually from chapter two, but I’ll let Papa tell you about the promise.

In a world that hates and fears magic, how can one mage win custody of his son and survive?
