Exciting news inside: Shards For His Gift, the next Curse Breaker book, is coming!
Hey,
I’m here with the best kind of news, book news! But first, an introduction.
I’m Melinda Kucsera the author of the Curse Breaker series and several others, and today, I am writing to you as myself. Ran will return, I promise. But this week, I wanted to step out from behind the curtain and speak to you myself instead of letting Ran talk for me.
I’m sure he’s quite upset about that, and you’ll probably hear all about when I let him takeover again. But every once in a while, I want to talk directly to you, and today’s one of those days.
Why am I doing that?
Because I want to tell you something that Ran won’t. I might also want to complain about my dear characters and the crazy things they do. Ran doesn’t tell you most of it.
But first, I had a lot of fun interviewing three fantasy authors over this past weekend. Let me introduce you to them:
I talked with Brendan Noble, author of A Dagger in the Winds, about unleashing darkness, seeking revenge, and Slavic mythology.
I talked with Toni Binns, author of Choice of the Traveler, about unlocking magic and finding romance.
I talked to Hannah Steenbock about her book South Breaks about magic users fighting against tyranny.
Where can you listen all three episodes?
Start at our podcast’s official home, where you can find links to it on Spotify, Apple, iHeart Radio, Amazon, etc or listen right on that page.
Or head over to YouTube and listen/watch all 3 episodes here. I set up a playlist to make all the interviews easy to find.
I hope you’ll give them all a listen. Each author reads an excerpt of their book, and I try to trick them into giving away spoilers about their series while we discuss the magic system, the lore, the world building, and the characters’ journeys.
I’d also like to give a shoutout to our supporter on Patreon whose support helped me get the next Curse Breaker book, Shards For His Gift, edited faster. Thank you so much, Glenda! I could not have done that without you.
Nor would I have the good news I took over my own newsletter to deliver. Shards For His Gift will be out next week, hopefully in all formats. I sent the final version to all the stores yesterday.
Some publish faster than others, but I think by next Monday, Shards For His Gift should be available everywhere, including Kobo+, Overdrive and other systems libraries use in addition to all the usual places.
If you don’t want to wait, you can get a copy of the ebook now from our Gumroad store. Your book will be delivered via BookFunnel.
If you love Sarn and his family as much as I do and want to help me get their books written and published faster, please consider supporting me on Patreon. All levels include copies of my books, and you can read my next book as I write it.
Oh and Ran doesn’t want me to tell you that Shards For His Gift ends on a cliffhanger, and that it’s his fault. But it does, and it is. You’ll see why when you read it.
That’s the other thing I wanted to tell you because he won’t. I’m sure he’ll have a lot to say about that next week.
See you then.
—Melinda Kucsera
