“I thought you’re not supposed to get involved in human affairs,” Sarn commented the moment she swung aboard the horse.

“Do they look human to you?” Misriah slashed a horse-sized reptile across its belly as it lunged at them, and it fell backward.

“No,” Sarn said but he sounded odd. Was he annoyed that she intervened?
